Title: What got you into playing music?

When did you and why did you start playing music?

The reason why I started playing drums I think was when I first heard Rob Zombieīs awsome "Hellbilly Deluxe" and I thought "I wanna do that to" and it went on from there.

Itīs the best feeling by far to play with the band, so fucking fun, LOVE it.

Me and my friends wanted to start a band after seeing a band perform..

So i would say just the interest of getting attention and having people watch my everymove. Then actually say to me 'Hey your from....'.

We formed a band and we got pretty popular in the town we lived in and people did say that to me [Hey your from....]. Might not be world known but its good enough for me.

my old school got me playing trombone, piano because of my family since we have one, guitar because of me, and bass because of a mate.

My grandma used to babysit my bro and I so my mom made me take piano lessons from her... I hated it but didnt complain... I learned how to read basic music and was pretty good at it.... But now I cant even sight read, it takes me like 15 mins to get like 1 minute of a song translated now... My grandma gave me her books and someone got me a keyboard, played it once in a while but gave it up after finding it boring as fuck... next in like 7th grade my mom got my bro and I accoustic guitars... I didnt wanna learn how to play cause I thought it was hard, so I basically pretended to know how, playing random notes acting like rockstar, I remember I broke my guitar, the neck just brokeoff... theres like one good one still that i might take and restring and shit but I dont know... After that I had no interest in music, but in my mind I always wanted to be a rockstar but so does everyone else... Well senior year I met this kid through skateing, he played guitar and at the time I thought he was freaking good, like he was playing the fade to black solo and the master of puppets and one... I was like holy shit, that shit is hard how are you doing that... hes like no it isnt... So he would let me play and Id be like this is sweet, and then I decided I wanted to take up guitar, so he sold me his yamaha for 90 bucks, not worth 90s bucks... but anyways I started learning... and Im here now progressing at guitar almost 2 years later... What got me in, mainly my friend Julian, metallica definately cause all I wanted to do was learn master of puppets and other songs..., Now I see a future in music for myself and I might beable to live that dream of being a rockstar... I dotn wanna be a rockstar, just a lead guitarist in a really good band..

my friend got a guitar, so i got a bass for my birthday and we made a band at about the age of 10 - 11. Our first gig was when I was only about 11 or 12! Then I thought bass was kinda boring so I bought a guitar and have just been jamming with some ppl ever since.

Back when i was younger i would bang on anything...ANYTHING.....the old story around my family is when i was little...i would even take my drink cup and like say "d" for drink and everytime hit my high chair table....i got a little montgomery ward drumkit back in the day and started banging on it....Then i remember when i was like about 9 i decided i had to get back in and play drums full time!! I always had music around because my uncle was a true hippie along with my mom and dad so i was always tuned into like hendrix zeppelin the who ac/dc all of that stuff...i remember way back when i was young i went to a metallica show when i was 5 (got snuck in) gnr and tallica tour and not only that my dad always had the black album tape and would play it so when i got old enough and got allowance i bought reload and love it!! I just marveled at the drum sound and the pounding driving rhythems that lars was keeping up and was around when i said that i had to get into drums full time....then i got a computer and then i really discovered music....with my allowance kept my cd collection growing but i also got songs and stuff off of the internet...so i would say what got me into playing music was that i really had no other choice...i was asked (when i was 9) by i think my grandma if i was going to play drums again and i thought about it and said...HELL YEAH!! 10 years later here i am...still lovin music and will until the day i die!!

When I was a kid my dad had 3 Rush videos which I would watch constantly, and I was facinated by Geddy Lee (basicly because his "guitar," as I thought it was, was black while Alex's was white). I wanted to learn to play like him, so I picked up trombone because my school didn't teach bass and I could at least study in the bass clef. When I was in 5th grade my parents bought me an Ibanez GSR190 and I taught myself to play.
Then in the summer of 2004, my uncle gave me a tape of some songs to get me aquinted with the "other-than-Rush" music scene. That tape happened to have the heaviest song I had ever heard on it and when I asked what it was, he said it was Whiskey In The Jar by METALLICA. That spurred me to start a band with my best friend Ryan. Ever since that say I've been writing my own songs and lyrics.
