Title: Equalizer Presets
Description: Burning CD's

metman - November 9, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
Does anyone know if it is possible to burn a CD with the equalizer presets you use in your media program? Example: I adjusted the EQ in i-Tunes to a setting that creates an amazing sound, but when I burned the CD, it sounded flat. Is it possible to burn the CD with those same EQ presets, so it doesn't sound flat.

I dont think its possible. Best bet is to note the EQ down and alter it to that setting on your stereo system.
Dunno how else you could do it really.

Or get a audio editing program that will actually save the song.

What your doing is just altering the programs option

In nero you can apply an EQ to the songs before you brun them.

MOP and Fuct, it looks like you guys are right. I can't find anything in iTunes to save the setting, but Erzkanzler, you just reminded me of a couple programs that might work. So thanks to all 3 of you.

this is my first post in tech talk - usually i know shit all!

i'd be carefull burning something with pre-set equalizer settings, cause if yolu play that CD in another sterio that you have set perfectly, it will sound shit, cause you will be altering the equilisation twice!

you don't want to need to reset your equaliser every time you listen to different CDs

What I do is save the CD with the settings, and set the stereo to flat. I would just burn the CD regular and adjust the stereo EQ, but it only has a 2 bar EQ. Sound Studio has a 10 bar EQ. So it's better for me to burn the CD with special settings and leave the sterio on flat.

that makes sense. if you can burn with a better euqalizer than your stereo has, then fine.

i'm used to my stereo, which has a standard 6 awitch equiliser.

when i get the inclination, i'm gonna buy a loewe or bose or bang and olufson sound sytem that fucking rocks, then destroy it with metal!

Personally i keep the music like it was intended by the artist.
So if i burn a cd i dont use EQ, with some exceptions; live performances where the recorded sound is not good and when i make a mix cd with alot diffrent stuff on it i try to balance out the music with each other a bit.

I hate it when someone thinks cool full bass and treble sounds so awesome on my laptop, so ill burn it that way, destroys the music for every other devices i tell ya.
So if u use it use it moderately. :)

The albums I'm mainly talking about are Testament-Live in London, and Megadeth-RIP. Live in London sounded a little muddy with no EQ, and I didn't want to buy the remastered version of RIP, so I added some bass and trebble.
